One full PhD scholarship is available at The University of Newcastle, Australia to work with Dr. Duy Ngo (https://www.newcastle.edu.au/profile/duy-ngo) in the area of Wireless Communications. The research topics include the design and optimization of 5G wireless networks, e.g., Cloud radio access networks, heterogeneous networks, simultaneous wireless information and power transfer, full-duplex communications, massive MIMO.
The scholarship is for 3.5 years and will cover the followings: Full tuition fees (AUD 113,680), living allowance of AUD 26,288 per year, AUD 2,020 for relocation expense to Australia, full health insurance, one laptop, AUD 1,500 per year for research (travel, books, etc.) and AUD 500 for thesis allowance.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Mathematics, Optimisation, Communications Systems/Networks, and research experience (e.g., a Master’s degree). The candidate should also satisfy the English requirement (IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0). Some English language relaxation is available for the strong candidates. The successful candidate must commence the PhD program by March 31, 2017.
